There are a lot of things in this world that I have yet to experience – be it taste, hear, see or even touch. I have put together my own list of things to eat before I die, but it will be ever growing. It is something like Maggie’s Mighty Life List, except with food. What a cool idea! I LOVE lists! lol I’m pleased to say I’ve had a bunch of these.
I am obsessed with list! lol.
Hmm, you are making me hungry with your list.
What an amazing and creative idea…
I would love to follow you. How do I go about that?
I love your list! Do you want me to send you some Nutella?? We eat it on a regular basis! There are so many things in blue that I have not eaten and so many in black that I have–some that I consider to be easy to obtain here in Southern California–like fish and chips by the beach–did that in San Diego in Seaport Village. Best wishes on completing your list. I am looking forward to seeing the updates.
Great idea of keeping track of what you want to eat and when you accomplish it. I love it!
Go get yourself some Nutella, girl! It’s so good. I like it spread really thin on sliced apples or pears. Mmm. It’s in most of the grocery stores now (in the aisle with peanut butter.) Give it a try! Do it! Thanks so much for swinging by my blog when I had my Sits Day last week:-)
I can’t believe you’ve never had a BLT!! Your blog is great!
I’ve had a few of these and can’t believe there are some you haven’t yet! Wow! You’ve never had a root beer float?! (My husband likes Pabst beer floats…). I like to use A&W for my root beer floats; it’s the creamiest. I have some suggestions/comments/recommendations. If you’ve never had sushi, I’d suggest starting light, with a California roll or shrimp tempura. If you like that, move up into the more fancy ones, like unagi (eel) which is my favorite. They also have vegetable rolls. If you don’t like sushi, I wouldn’t recommend the sashimi. It is just a slab of raw fish. I like it, but it’s not for everyone. It’s very fishy and a little slimy. I had the red tuna. Chocolate truffles: most good candy stores have them. I love the irish cream and the caramel ones. Most Barnes and Noble’s sell cheesecake factory. i love the pumpkin cheesecake and the godiva.I went to a sushi restaurant and they had green tea ice cream. you can get the ice cream or the stuff i had came wrapped in little gelatin balls. had the texture of bubble gum. i liked the strawberry better than the green tea. Venison: the best I’ve ever had is in my homestate of Wisconsin. But the best meat for steak is Elk. I guess that’s all I’ve got. Good luck! Fantastic list! and now I’m hungry.
This is such a great idea! I think I’m going to start working on my own list! Do you continue to add to this?
Mmmmm… single malt whiskey! that’s what I’m talking about.
My suggestions, if you haven’t already:
-Mochi ice cream (japanese rice balls with ice cream filling, comes in flavors like green tea, mango, and coconut) –this is probably what Jen was talking about at the end of her comment, but personally I love the green tea ones!
-Chocolate chip pumpkin bread
-Fresh pineapple in Costa Rica
-Pineapple & jalapeno pizza
-Alpaca meat, medium rare, with lemon and herbs
-Fresh, organic trout
-Apple butter (on a roll or toast)
-Garlic fries at Safeco Field in Seattle
-Miso soup
-Edamame
-Pie crust cinnamon rolls
-Fresh, real south american salsa
-Still-hot, just-cooked kettle corn at a country faire
-Hush puppies
-A mojito
-Banana & peanut butter on toast
-Bacon-wrapped waterchestnuts
-Rhubarb pie
Great concept!
>5. A ripe fig, straight off the tree
I grew up with fig trees in the yard. Pick your figs that have split skin. Don’t pick in the morning, peak flavor is achieved when the fruit has absorbed the warmth of the day.
Try a “dirty martini”!! You’ll never go back…
And Nutella spread on a strawberry!!
The best ice box cake reminds me of my childhood; graham crackers layered with chocolate and vanilla pudding and sliced bananas, and marichino cherries! Also try the Espresso Ice Box Cake recipe from Epicurious, to die for!! http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Espresso-and-Mascarpone-Icebox-Cake-109757
I get so hungry each time I re-visit your blog. Great blog!
Oh my gosh. You have never had fresh straight from the bush raspberries??! They are SO good. Mulberries from the tree are amazing too. My family has a house downstate with a couple mulberry trees next door. I so ate myself sick on them jk =P
Gumbo is amazing. I got the authentic version from a wonderful woman from Louisiana. Oh so good!
Bacon wrapped water chestnuts are sooo good.
Gyros are amazing. So is couscous. It’s super easy to make as well. Quinoa (said: Keen-wa) is really good too if you end up liking couscous!
And Polenta!! Wow. You are going to have soo much fun eating this list away!
Have fun with your list! I think I may make one…. =D
Your site is like a blonde with a brain. I like it. All jokes apart, very informative articles and equally impressive design.
G’day,
I came to you via black blackroads photo blog. It has been a wonderful read thank you.
After reading your things to lists I got a strong feeling that you need a nice long holiday in Australia. Oh boy the things you could knock off your list:
Shark
Fish and chips by the beach – our fish ‘n’ chips is generally “Flake” aka Shark. Swimming with the dolphins
Scuba diving on the great barrier reef
Whale watching (I bet you’d love swimming with the whale-sharks off the coast of Western Australia too)
White water rafting
Hot air ballooning
Hiking in the rainforest (we have so many different types – the Daintree is spectacular. You could definitely shower in a waterfall there and ride a flying fox).
Anyway, thank you and I look forward to reading more.
Take care.
