Cheatercheaterbestfriendeater

89. Find a new musical artist to add to my list of music every day for a month (5/30)

I love this song.

I do.

The music video is pretty funny too.

K and I were watching the On Demand Music channel the other day. They had this song on the list. Of course when you have a song title of “Cheatercheaterbestfriendeater” we are going to check it out. It is now on my iPod.

Be My Honeypie

89. Find a new musical artist to add to my list of music every day for a month (4/30)

I found this song randomly by The Weepies.  I was searching the internet on a cold, rainy day for who knows what and found it.  As soon as I heard the song and saw the video it made me smile.  It reminds me so much of K and I.  We actually go to the store sometimes and do random things, like a little dance in the middle of the isle because we hear a song we love.

Nothing Else Matters

89. Find a new musical artist to add to my list of music every day for a month (3/30)

There is nothing greater then hearing a song you know by heart from one band redone by another. This song by Apocalyptica was originally done by Metallica. Now you can say what you want to about Metallica, but I like them. They remind me of a time in my life that is completely different from the one that I have now. “Nothing Else Matters” brings me back to that time.

The other day K called me over to the computer. He was looking around YouTube and found this video. We both are really big classic music lovers and were amazed at the remake. K is actually thinking of getting the album. Even if you do not like Metallica you may like the song.

Monday Five Countdown

Five Things I’m Grateful For

1. The show Community. I have literally just started watching it and I cannot get over the fact that I just discovered it.

2. Getting out of work early enough now to actually come home and cook. Then afterward have time to watch a movie. What a difference an hour can make.

3. Breakfast in bed. Why does food taste infinitely better when you are in your pj’s and under covers?

4. Being blessed enough to be with a husband who not only tells me how much he cares for me, but shows me. Dinner ready when I get home? Oh honey!

5. For my weekend. Lots of reading, laughing, snuggles, and seeing my friends and family.  Is there a better way to spend a weekend?  I think not.

Four Things I Can’t Stop Thinking About

1. The day after grocery shopping day.  All of my favorite foods are right there in my house. Yummers!

2. The bills I have to pay. I can’t wait to get my first paycheck from my new job. It is going to be amazing.

3. How much laundry and ironing I have to do. Am I the only one that hates doing both?

4. Japan.  Heartbreaking.

Three Things I Want To Accomplish This Week

1. Putting away laundry that is done and ironing.

2. Returning the shoes I bought from Macy’s online. They sent the wrong color. When I took them out of the box K actually said “What the hell are those? They are uuugggllyyy!”

3. Cook dinner at least four times this week. Last week I completely failed to do this. Again.

Two Things I Am Working To Be Positive About

1. Doing dishes. I hate them. Really. I really do.

2. Going to leave this one blank.  See One Random Thing portion of the Monday Five Countdown.

One Random Thing

1.  Sometimes I have a hard time with the Two Things I Am Working To Be Positive About portion of the Monday Five Countdown.  I am a very positive person, so I find it hard to list things that I have to be positive about because I am pretty much always positive.  Is that weird?

What’s going on with your five for today?

Her Morning Elegance

89. Find a new musical artist to add to my list of music every day for a month (2/30)

When I was in my twenties I was all about music. Everything that I remember from those years has a song to go along with it. When the song comes on the radio or on my iPod I am instantly taken back.  So when I came across Maggie’s Mighty List and her quest to learn a 1,000 new songs I knew I had to add something similar to my 101 in 1001 List. I am in love with learning new songs.

I don’t know how we can across this song.  I think the thing I love most about it is the video that goes along with it.  It is one of the most creative uses of stop motion I’ve seen in a while.  Please do check it out for yourself!

Assumptions…

Have you ever thought back to when you were a child.  To all of the things that you thought you were going to do, places that you thought you would visit and the person you thought you were going to be.  Now think about what you are doing now.  Is it what you thought was going to happen?

As a kid, I kind of assumed that by the time I grew up, I’d know exactly who I was and what I wanted to do.  It seems that either I haven’t completely grown up yet, or being the person I thought I was going to be is completely different from the person I ended up being.  I figured I had the potential to be anything that I set my mind too.  Of course I did set my sights for things that I thought I wanted.  Later finding out they were not made for me.

There was absolutely no chance in my young mind that I’d wake up in my mid-thirties,  without having traveled the world, owning a house while juggling an amazing job as a novelist with my two children in tow.  Oh and of course my husband was going to be a world famous actor who had too many Oscars to count.  A girl can dream after all.

I look at my life right now and I realize that it is not where I thought it was going to be at this point.  But you know what…it is OK.  I am still here and still have dreams.  Who cares if I didn’t complete them by the time limit that my young mind gave me.  I still have time.  I don’t own a house, but do live in an adorable and comfortable apartment.  My husband isn’t a world famous actor, but he is the most amazing, kind, remarkable man and I count my blessings that we have found each other.  I don’t have children, but the possibilities for them are there.  And as for the novelist…well I have learned that I am not the best writer.  But it is OK…I can always try.  I can strive to be a better person.  I can learn.  I can change and I can find out what I want.  Even though I haven’t completed most of what I thought by now, my future is bright and the possibilities are endless.

We all can still have dreams, no matter age.
