Monday Five Countdown

Decided to participate in Bookishpenguin’s Monday Five Countdown. What a great idea!! Try it for yourself!

Five Things I’m Grateful For

1. The honeymoon that I just came back from.  So many amazing things happen and it was the most relaxing time I have ever had.  I am grateful we were able to experience it.  A lot of our friends/family were not able to take their honeymoons.

2. Heat.  When we came back from Jamaica it was COLD!

3. For everything we have.  Sometimes you forget just how lucky you are to live here in the States and own the things that you do.  Not everyone is as lucky as we are.

4. My husband.  He is the most amazing man I ever met and he treats me like a queen.  I couldn’t have asked for anyone better.

5. The suitcase I bought before I left.  It was so light and easy to use.  It has swivel wheels so it was so much easier to walk with.

Four Things I Can’t Stop Thinking About

1. Our honeymoon. Yes this again.  I can’t stop thinking about our room, room service, the bluest ocean and the amazing time we had.  Wishing I could go back right now!

2. This years Christmas cookie list.  Still thinking about this one.  At least I bought all of the tins before we went on our vacation.

3. Christmas shopping.  I really need to get a jump on it!

4. On how we missed Thanksgiving and everyone is in the Christmas spirit, but we still don’t feel like it is the holidays.

Three Things I Want To Accomplish This Week

1. Buying a Christmas tree.  We have this tiny little tree that we have been using for the last two years.   We are looking to upgrade.

2. Setting up our new Christmas tree and decorations.

3. Unpacking.  I unpacked our clothing to wash, but everything else is still in there.

Two Things I Am Working To Be Positive About

1. The holidays.  I know this one sounds a little weird, but I usually get pretty worked up during the holidays.  So much to do in so little time.

2. The amount of money spent during the holidays.  We are going to try to keep it to a minimum this year.

One Random Thing

1. We are having Thanksgiving Squared on Saturday the 11th.  I am looking forward to putting together the menu for it!

What’s going on with your five for today?

A Few of My Favorite Things

* Caramel. These Chocolate Caramel Tartelettes look insanely good!

* Bookshelves. I wish that we had more room for them. We just don’t have the space in our apartment to have as many as I would like. Hopefully when we move into a house we will have a mini library!

* I would love to make these. So simple and yet so cute!

* Sleep. My bed, comforter, sheets and pillow make me dream sweet dreams. I love sleeping!

* Angry Birds. Have you played this game? I have it for my iTouch and Oh it is so addicting!

Monday Five Countdown

Decided to participate in Bookishpenguin’s Monday Five Countdown. What a great idea!! Try it for yourself!

Five Things I’m Grateful For

1. My vacation – At this moment I am most likely sipping on a cool drink in the sun at a resort. K and I are finally taking our honeymoon! Woot!

2. My family – the most amazing family a girl could ask for. Just last week we traveled down to Florida to visit my grandfather. I am happy that I was able to see him.

3. My husband. I am so overly happy to be married to him. Husband. Husband. Husband. I just can’t stop saying it!

4. My crockpot. It has been a lifesaver because our schedules are so different. I hate thinking K doesn’t have something to eat when he gets home.

5. I am so thankful for what we have. Our apartment, our jobs, our friends, everything!

Four Things I Can’t Stop Thinking About

1. How we are going to miss Thanksgiving this year. When we first booked our trip it wasn’t a big deal, but now that we are getting closer to the holiday I am bummed that we will not be in the states.

2. This years Christmas cookie list. I don’t know what I want to make this year. I don’t have the tins yet. I usually have this all settled before Thanksgiving. This year I am not even close.

3. My grandfather. I did not want to leave him when we came back from our Florida trip. I really wish that he lived closer to us.

4. That I need to get back into inviting people over. Due to our wedding we were always all over the place and we didn’t have time for dinner parties or get togethers. Now that we are done I would like to start having people over again. I love entertaining and really miss it.

Three Things I Want To Accomplish This Week

1. Snorkeling. I promised myself I would try it out on our trip.

2. Relaxation. Because I have been none stop for months now!

3. Unpacking right when we get home. I have a habit of leaving everything in the my suitcase for a week before I realized I need to use some of it.

Two Things I Am Working To Be Positive About

1. Bills. Who doesn’t have this problem?

2. Holiday shopping. I am usually done and wrapped by Thanksgiving. I have only gotten one present so far. I am soooo behind!

One Random Thing

1. I tried to go shopping for clothing the other day. For some reason I didn’t find a thing. I didn’t like anything that they were offering, nothing looked good and I was completely depressed at the end of my shopping experience. Where are all of the cute, adorable, well-fitting clothes that I see in the magazines?

Fill in the Blank Friday

Another week has gone by. I always look forward to Friday’s. Not only does it mean that the weekend is here, but also that we get to do the Fill in the Blank Friday from The Little Things We Do…

1. My Thanksgiving plans this year will include eating, relaxing and having fun on our honeymoon. It will be weird not to be in the US for Thanksgiving, but we will make the best of it! lol.

2. My favorite Thanksgiving was (is) each and every one of them. Family gets together and we have amazing food. What could be bad about that?

3. My signature Thanksgiving dish is anything dessert. I am the baker in the family so I am always the one to bring a dessert. Each year I try to make two or three different things. Alas, this year there will be none (or something from a bakery).

4. My favorite Thanksgiving food is the turkey. It is the only time of the year that I get it. K doesn’t eat it at all so we don’t really have any large gatherings where other people can help me eat it.

5. Thanksgiving free association! Pie, rolls, pie with homemade whip cream, mashed potatoes, ham, football, and family.

6. Thanksgiving is a time that you can get together with family and be thankful.

7. I am thankful for I feel so very grateful. I am lucky. I have the most amazing husband that a women could ask for. The most amazing smart sister. Parents who support my every move. A family that is there no matter what. A quirky little warm apartment. Friends who would do anything for us. Food on our table. Money in our pockets. Pockets to put the money in. My health. My amazing boss. Having a job to go to everyday. (This is from my previous post here)

So very lucky.

So, I’ve been thinking so much about life and everything that goes with it.

I love my life. No matter what challenges come upon us, I feel so very grateful.

Sometimes I get scared. Sometimes I wonder how I was so lucky to get any of this. It’s all too wonderful. I am thankful for everyday. You never know when it may all end. Be happy with what you have been given. Be it the person you are with or the cup of hot coffee you had this morning. Strive for happiness.

I will continue to be thankful everyday. I hope you will too!
