# 87. Have a “girls’ night/day/afternoon” 5 times (1/5)

So Saturday night a friend was having everyone over for dinner. Afterward, the men were going to a bar/gig for a couple of friends of ours and we decided to stay in and watch La Vie en Rose instead. It was a wonderfully depressing movie of legendary Parisian singer Edith Piaf. Moving consistently between past and present, the film follows her forlorn childhood in a brothel to her big break at Louis Leplée’s nightclub and her premature death at age 47 of liver cancer. Marion Cotillard was absolutely amazing as Edith Piaf. She made a emotional, captivating, and heart-wrenching performance. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who loves forgien films. The movie is in French with English subtitles (hearing the beautiful French throughout made it better then I had hoped).
