Packaging! Duh!

After thinking about what I was going to bake as my first “giving” dessert I realized something…I don’t have anything to give them away in!  So came to the conclusion that I needed packaging.  I decided for things like cookies, candies, and bars that I would put them in cellophane baggies.  For the larger stuff like cupcakes, cakes, pies and crumbles I would go with the cardboard boxes for baked goods.  And to finish it off I was thinking of making cute little stickers for labeling (this is the only thing that I am missing so far for packaging).  Friday was my first “give away” and I am happy to say that it was a huge success so far!  Can’t wait to deliver more!

Little red “cupcake”…you need a love thats gonna last…

So I finally caved in and did it.  I bought the Baked cookbook.  I have seen so many good review on it and felt that I needed it.  K made me promise that I would baked at least 75% of what was in the book before I would be able to buy another.  I have no problems with that and I don’t think that the people who will be getting them will have a problem with that either.  Once I bought it I literally could not wait to make something.  First thing I did was pick up some of the extra things that I needed for a recipe and headed home.  That night (Friday) we were going to dinner at a friends house and I wanted to make something special.  I decided to make the Red Velvet Cake with Cinnamon Vanilla Buttercream Icing.  Instead of making it into a cake I made it into cupcakes.  They were a big hit!

Yummers!
